Hyde Engineering was the electrical engineer on the project team for the Sewell Thomas Stadium renovation. We provided complete electrical design which included a new electrical service to the University’s primary electrical system, new lighting throughout, power distribution, and fire alarm system. In addition, we worked with the project team to find ‘green’ lighting solutions throughout the project including the concession area, press box, restrooms and concourse. New stadium lighting is provided by Musco, a leading provider of LED and metal halide light sources customized for large-area venues. The result is a much improved athletic venue that is energy efficient and sustainable for the future.
This new 185,000 square-foot student center is home to student organizations, a copy center, food services, commercial kitchen, a ballroom, offices, meeting rooms, and lounge areas. The electrical design included two 2000 Amp electrical services from the campus primary system. Two emergency generators provide emergency life safety power. Various lighting systems provide decorative, functional, and energy conscious illumination.
IPG is a world class laser research facility. The building is 28,000 square feet of laboratory, fabrication, clean room, administration, and support space. The power systems include conditioned and filtered, normal and optional, stand-by power, with 200% growth capacity. The communications and data systems are state-of-the-art. The lighting is all LED with advance controls both for energy efficiency and client utility.
